Gratin of Root Veggies

Gratin of Root Veggies

Preheat oven to 200°C

1 tbs butter
1 sweet potato, about 300gr, cut into slices
1 – 2 potatoes, about 300gr, cut into slices
1 swede, about 400gr, cut into slices
1 tbs thyme, crushed
1 twig of rosemary, crushed
3 dl cream
3 ml salt
2 ml black pepper
2 dl grated cheese

Grease oven glassware. Put in the root veggies in layers.

Mix cream with herbs, salt and pepper and add it.

Top with cheese and bake in oven for about 45 minutes or until the veggies are soft. Keep it covered with aluminium foil for about 25-30 minutes so that it won’t get too dark.

This dish can be prepared in advance. When covered, it can be stored in the fridge, until you need to bake it to serve it freshly made.

You can serve this gratin with just a salad or pork chops, hamburgers or with soya burgers.

  1. Yumm! I would leave the pork shops and hamburgers and would eat more instead. And on the top a hand full of nuts. LECKER
